Brand-wide ownership notes

This is the generation where Hyundai stopped being an apology and started being a sensible purchase. The engines are undramatic, the build is better than the price suggests, and the five-year warranty these were sold with means many have a documented history. There is no headline failure to warn you about, which is unusual in this database and is rather the point.

Chassis

ChassisBodyYearsCharacter
FDhatchback2007–2012The car that changed how Europe thought about Hyundai, and a genuinely sensible used purchase with no headline fault to fear.
FD CWwagon2008–2012The i30 with a longer tail and a genuinely useful boot. It's as uneventful to own as the hatch, which is the whole point of buying one.
LMcrossover2010–2015A quiet, roomy crossover that arrived just as this class became the default family car. It does nothing brilliantly and very little badly.
