What the site is

A reference database about used cars: specifications, known failure modes, inspection points and price bands, organised by make, model, chassis code and engine. It is editorial reference material. It is not a classifieds site, a dealer, a broker, an inspection service or a valuation service, and it does not sell cars, parts or leads.

No advice, no warranty

The content is general information, not advice about any particular vehicle. Nothing here is a survey, an inspection, a valuation, a warranty or a guarantee of condition. Buying decisions are yours, and a specific car should be assessed by a competent inspector before money changes hands. See the disclaimer for what the figures mean and do not mean.

The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind so far as the law allows. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for loss arising from reliance on the content. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Accuracy and corrections

Entries are researched and dated, and each carries an evidence tier so you can see how firm a claim is — see methodology. Errors are still possible, and coverage is deliberately narrow. Corrections are welcome at EMAIL and material ones are noted on the page.

The editorial content here — specifications, issue records, inspection checklists, risk levels, verdicts and prose — is published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0).

You are free to:

• Share — copy and redistribute it in any medium or format
• Adapt — remix, transform and build upon it

On two conditions:

• Attribution — credit Car Model Guide, link back to the page you took it from, link to the licence, and say if you changed anything.
• NonCommercial — not for commercial purposes. Using it in a dealer listing, a paid publication, an app you charge for or an ad-supported site counts as commercial. Ask first: EMAIL — permission is usually straightforward.

Reading, printing and deep-linking need no permission at all, and quoting a passage with a link back is explicitly fine.

What the licence does not cover

• Photographs carry their own licences — several are CC BY-SA, which obliges you to share adaptations alike. They are not relicensed by this page.
• Manufacturer marks are trademarks. They are not licensed here at any price; they appear only to identify the make being described.
• Typefaces are under the SIL Open Font License.

Your own data

The garage feature stores its data in your browser. Keeping a backup is your responsibility; clearing your browser storage deletes it, and there is no copy on any server to restore from. Use the export button if it matters to you.

Changes and governing law

These terms may change as the site does; the date at the top reflects the current version. They are governed by the law of JURISDICTION, with the courts of JURISDICTION having jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
