The specific limits of the numbers on this site. Worth reading before you use one in a negotiation.

The price figures are illustrative

Every euro figure currently shown is sample data, generated from a documented placeholder model rather than collected from the market. There is no sample size behind it because there is no sample. It exists so the structure of the site. Bands, the good-buy threshold, the facelift split. Can be evaluated end to end, and it's labelled on every surface where it appears.

Don't use these numbers to price a car. When real figures replace them they'll carry a sample size, a collection window and a region. Current placeholder metadata: Central EU, EUR, window rolling 12 months to 2026-07, last updated 2026-07-30.

US figures are a currency conversion

Where a US price is shown it's the European band converted at a stated rate (1 EUR = 1.08 USD, 2026-07). No US market differential is modelled, because none is sourced. The genuinely useful part of that comparison is availability. Much of this range was never sold in the United States.

Asking prices, not transaction prices

Price bands describe what sellers ask, not what buyers pay. In the European used market the gap is typically a few percent and varies by segment and season. Treat a band as the shape of the market, not as a valuation.

Risk levels and the reliability score

Risk levels are editorial judgements defined by money and probability, and every one is printed with its reasoning. The reliability score is derived arithmetically from those records: risk level, walk-away failures, likely spend against the car's price, and faults you can't detect at viewing, and its deductions are shown on each page. Both are aids to comparison between variants, not predictions about any individual car. Note that the score inherits the illustrative pricing through its spend-versus-price term.

Issue records

A recorded fault is a pattern, not a certainty: a well-maintained example may never show it, and a neglected one may have several. Repair costs are ranges at independent-specialist rates with a stated date, and they vary by country, workshop and how far the fault has progressed. Evidence tiers are on every record. See methodology.

No substitute for an inspection

Checklists here are written to make a viewing more useful. They don't replace a professional pre-purchase inspection, an OBD scan by someone who can interpret it, or a history check. Anything safety-related: brakes, structure, corrosion, airbags. Needs a qualified person looking at the actual car.

Estimates and general guidance: not an inspection, a valuation or a warranty. Prices are aggregated asking prices for a stated region, not transaction prices. Price figures currently shown are illustrative sample data generated from a documented placeholder model; see methodology.
