Brand-wide ownership notes
The Qashqai invented the segment everyone now sells into, and Nissan sold enormous numbers of them, which keeps parts cheap and independents familiar. The engines come from the Renault alliance rather than from Nissan alone, so the 1.5 dCi here is the same unit as in a Mégane. Watch the timing chain on the petrol and the particulate filter on the diesel, and check the rear suspension on cars that have carried families.
Chassis
| Chassis | Body | Years | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| J10 | crossover | 2007–2013 | The car that invented the family crossover, and still one of the cheapest ways into a raised hatchback that drives like a car. |
| F15 | crossover | 2010–2019 | A small crossover that sold on its styling and turned out to drive quite well. Rear space and visibility are the price you pay for the shape. |
