Brand-wide ownership notes
Subaru's flat engines and permanent four-wheel drive give these a feel nothing else at the price matches, and they'll run enormous mileages when they're serviced. Head gaskets on the older petrol boxers and the crankshaft on the diesel are the two items that cost real money. Parts and specialists are thinner on the ground than for the German makes, so factor that into what it costs to run.
