Brand-wide ownership notes
Peugeot of this period built comfortable, good-looking cars that depreciated hard, which is the opportunity. The diesels are the ones almost everyone bought and they're competent, though the smaller HDi units have a turbo oil-feed problem that punishes skipped oil changes. Electrical faults are common and usually cheap. So buy on service history and you get a great deal of car for the money.
Chassis
| Chassis | Body | Years | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| 508 | sedan | 2010–2018 | A big, softly sprung French saloon that rides beautifully and lost its value faster than almost anything else here. |
| 508 SW | wagon | 2011–2018 | The estate, which is the better-looking of the two and enormously practical. |
| T7 | hatchback | 2007–2013 | A comfortable, roomy hatch with a big glass roof on many trims and a soft ride. It's no sharper to drive than a Golf and it's considerably cheaper. |
