Brand-wide ownership notes
Volvo of this period built solid, comfortable cars with excellent seats and a body that lasts. The engines split the range: the in-house five-cylinder diesels are strong and long-lived, while the smaller four-cylinder units are Ford-derived and bring that family's fuel-system habits with them. Specialists are thinner on the ground than for the German makes, so a dealer bill arrives more often than you'd like.
Chassis
| Chassis | Body | Years | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| P3 | wagon | 2007–2016 | A big, comfortable, safe estate with the best seats in this database, and running costs that depend entirely on which engine is under the bonnet. |
| P3 | sedan | 2010–2018 | The saloon version of the same car, better looking and considerably less useful, which is why it sells for less. |
